The Challenge
As the world prioritises sustainability and energy security, community-led renewable energy projects have emerged as a key solution. These initiatives empower communities to generate clean energy while fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility. However, their success depends on a reliable and secure connection to manage and optimise energy consumption efficiently.
In Dénia, a historic coastal city in Spain, a local community came together to harness solar energy and reduce their environmental footprint. With an ideal rooftop space for photovoltaic solar panels, the project had the potential to make a significant impact. However, the ability to remotely monitor and optimise energy use was essential for maximising efficiency. Without a stable, secure, and high-performing connection, the success of this initiative was at risk.
Our Solution
At CSL, we provided a tailored connectivity solution to ensure seamless remote management of the photovoltaic system. We deployed the CSL Router, equipped with two Roaming SIMs, to guarantee uninterrupted connectivity. These SIMs automatically switch between mobile network operators, ensuring a stable connection even if one provider experiences signal loss.
To further enhance reliability, we implemented a secure VPN connection, enabling remote access for maintenance. This not only streamlined operational efficiency but also reduced the need for on-site visits, saving time and resources for the community’s maintenance team.
