OPENREACH ANNOUNCES LATEST EXCHANGES ADDED TO THE ALL IP (DIGITAL VOICE) ROAD MAP FOR NOVEMBER 2022

The UK's digital network business, Openreach, has announced the 77 new exchanges to be included in the 6th tranche of the All IP (Digital Voice) project.

These exchanges, outlined in the table below, bring the total number up to 454 – impacting over 4 million premises across the UK within the next 12 months. Openreach has also recently adjusted some of the 'stop-sell' dates of some previous exchanges, with some having their 'stop-sell' removed, to be confirmed at a later date.  For a full list of impacted exchanges across the 6 tranches, please click here to access our interactive map, where you can search by area, postcode or date range.

Although the industry has until 2025 to complete the switch, exchanges are being upgraded now. End-users are already receiving letters explaining to them that their local exchange is being upgraded to digital and that devices such as alarm signalling equipment, still reliant on analogue, will need a new solution. To continue to provide a positive service for their customers Installers & Service Providers should be thinking about how they can move any analogue reliant devices to a fully digital solution. To find out about the solutions CSL can offer Installers, please click here to visit our All IP hub where we explain what All IP is, its effect and what Installers & Service Providers can do to get ready.
