CSL Group, the Critical Connectivity specialist behind more than three million connections, has been named a finalist for Best IoT Initiative at the Global Connectivity Awards 2026. The entry is rSIM®, CSL’s patented DualCore SIM, and its deployment in telecare with Careium. Winners are announced at the ceremony on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at Indigo at The O2 in London.
Resilience that acts before anyone notices the network has gone
rSIM carries two mobile operator profiles attached to two separate operator cores. It tests the live data connection from the SIM itself rather than relying on the device, and switches to the backup profile when that connection stops working. There is no device firmware logic to write, no reboot, and no site visit. For a telecare unit, that means the device stays reachable at the moment someone falls. For fire and security signalling, it means the path to the monitoring centre holds when a network does not.
Fifteen years with Careium, and one outage that proved the point
rSIM now runs across Careium’s Eliza telecare range, part of a connectivity partnership fifteen years old, with more than 70,000 rSIMs live in the field. In February 2026 an alarm call was maintained without delay or drop through a two-hour core network outage on the primary carrier. rSIM detected the instability and switched to its secondary profile, and neither the resident nor the monitoring team saw any impact.
The category recognises the year’s outstanding IoT initiative, and the 2026 shortlist runs to eight companies drawn from national carriers, wholesale operators and global IoT platforms. CSL enters it from a different starting point: over three decades inside regulated sectors where a dropped connection is measured in safety and continuity, not inconvenience.
