DP4 Dual Radio for Fire: Now Available
BS5839-1:2025 introduced enhanced alarm transmission requirements for Category L systems, including indication of a catastrophic transmission failure within 3 minutes. ARCs and Installers will be able to meet that standard without being tied to a fixed IP path. This is ideal for sites where a fixed IP connection is unavailable, unreliable or not preferred.

Until now, the DP4 option for Fire has been limited to IP/4G, with Dual Radio only available at DP3. Following a dedicated development programme, DP4 performance will now be delivered over Dual Radio, while maintaining the availability and resilience you expect from Critical Connectivity®.
Important information and product codes for Installers
- DP4 Dual Radio will be available for Fire, including Category L applications: CS.54.RR4
- DP4 IP/4G will remain available for Fire: CS.54.LR4
- DP4 Dual Radio can also be specified for Intruder applications where required: CS.53.RR4
- DP3 Dual Radio will no longer be available for Fire: CS.54.RR3
