A Platform for Excellence
The Electronic Fire & Security competition, run by organising partner Skills for Security, aims to showcase the very best of vocational talent in the fire and security sector – testing technical ability, precision and problem-solving under high-pressure conditions that mirror real workplace standards. Finalists progressed through a series of demanding qualifying stages designed to test both their technical knowledge and practical skills.
This year’s finalist line-up includes:

Our sponsorship reflects our long-standing commitment to closing the skills gap in the Fire and Security industry and supporting the next generation of professionals. As a Lead Partner of the competition, we’re helping to raise training standards, promote career opportunities in the sector, and ensure young talent is equipped with the real-world skills required in fire and security systems.
The Fire and Security sector is evolving rapidly: technology is advancing, integration between fire detection and electronic security systems is increasing, and employers are demanding higher-level competencies from apprentices and technicians. The competition format mirrors this through hands-on tasks that simulate real-life industry scenarios and high-stakes evaluation.
For the finalists, participation is more than a contest: it offers exposure, networking, potential career advancement and recognition. For employers and training providers, it raises the bar, helping to showcase and nurture the future workforce.
Looking Ahead
The WorldSkills UK National Finals will take place across venues in South Wales from 18–20 November 2026. The finalists will compete in a high-pressure environment that reflects the pace, expectations and professional standards of the workplace, before winners are recognised at the National Finals Medal Ceremony.
