Product Owner - Devices

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Product Management Team. 

The Role:

CSL requires a Product Owner to join their Product Management team. The candidate will set, prioritise and accept work for the Development Team and be the interface between various internal CSL departments including Sales, Tech Support, Logistics and Manufacturing. The candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business and aim to maximise sales opportunities with the customer wherever possible.

The person:

You should be energetic, keen to learn using your own initiative and be able to work well with others using a positive approach. You should be able to make educated decisions with confidence, putting yourself in the mindset of the customer. You should have a passion for technology and a background as a Product Owner or Product Manager within the electronics industry would be advantageous.

Key Skills & Qualifications Required:

• 3 years proven work experience as a Systems Engineer, Product Owner or Product Manager for products combining software, firmware and hardware (preferably electronic security or IoT/M2M)

• Educated to degree level (preferable)

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal

• Experience in defining a product roadmap, gathering feature requests and prioritising workload for development teams

• Defining minimum marketable features and minimum viable products

• Problem solving, creative and strategic mindset

• Overall understanding of technologies used within the product(s)

• Team player ethic with exceptional people and presentation skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will encompass a range of responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Serve as the voice of the client

• Work with internal and external customers to analyse needs and align the product roadmap to CSL’s strategic goals

• Own the product roadmap

• Participate in and drive bi-weekly sprint planning for the development teams

• Develop scope, define and prioritise backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the development teams

• Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments

• Draft key objectives and results, strategies and apply the data for the product to make business decisions

• Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies

• Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product

• Develop appropriately detailed spec for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams

• Ensure all new products fit the company portfolio and long-term goals

• Research and analyse the market, users, new technologies and competition
