CSL is delighted to announce they have joined Fit to Switch as a National Champion. Fit to Switch is an exciting new initiative aiming to educate end-users and businesses, from different sectors, about the potential risks when Openreach switches off the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) network in 2025. It will teach people why they need to upgrade their communication networks to full fibre or 5G.
As a National Champion, CSL will play a key role in raising awareness of the impending PSTN switch-off and helping businesses prepare for the transition to new technologies. CSL is collaborating with multiple industries to ensure that businesses and consumers have connectivity that is futureproofed beyond 2025.

The UK and Ireland's telephone network is undergoing a major upgrade, from the traditional PSTN to All IP. The PSTN is a copper-based network that has been in use for over 100 years, but it is now outdated and unreliable. All IP is a digital network that is more reliable, faster, and more secure.
The PSTN switch-off is happening in two stages:
Stop sell: From 5th September 2023, Openreach has stopped accepting new orders for services that use the old copper network.
Switch-off: December 2025, Full withdrawal and closure of PSTN services and phone lines.
This means that all businesses and consumers will need to upgrade to All IP by 2025.
