The Person:

The ideal candidate will be a successful Project Manager with proven ability to engage with a technical team to ensure predictable results - delivery on time to a high level of quality. The right person will have a technical or product development background who understands the process of building software-based solutions, and utilises this to manage an “informed” and accurate plan. The individual will be able to understand what the top-level messages are pertinent when communicating to management and the executive team.

They must be confident and capable to engage at different levels of the organisation, with different individual communication styles. Communications and management will include external contractors and 3rd party organisations. They must thrive in an ambiguous environment and focus more on outcomes than process. They should be able to apply an appropriate approach to planning that is relevant to the scale and importance of the project and understand what is “good enough” to be described as “done”.
The target is always to achieve a successful project outcome, when measured in business terms, rather than foster the cause of any particular project management methodology.

The Role:

As part of the Project Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and management of multiple projects. Initially this is likely to include the development of our end-to-end solution for management of our IoT and SIM business lines as well as various other technical projects within the company.
This will require coordination and day to day communication with:
• Key stakeholders
• Internal Product Management
• Internal Business Analyst
• External solutions developers
• Internal solutions developers – software development, network management, infrastructure & ops, DevOps, and hardware development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will encompass a range of responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Tracking project deliverables and status
• Helping the team in defining, scoping, and setting project goals and objectives
• Generating weekly and monthly project status reports
• Chair and run regular project meetings
• Manage risks and issues
• Track resources, finances and manage spend

Key Skills & Qualifications Required:

• Experience in working in a software product development environment
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (preferably Scrum)
• Cloud based delivery experience (Azure / AWS / GCP) will be beneficial.
• Exposure in the field of mobile telecommunications or equivalent technology focused industry a strong plus.
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Proficient in a number of project and task management tools; Jira, Confluence, MS Project, RACI etc.
• Prince 2 desirable but not essential
• Bachelor’s degree
• Some knowledge of common business workflows
