KDS approached CSL as they wanted a reliable signalling product to protect St. Vincent’s Castleknock College, a prestigious independent school. The requirements for this installation included intruder and fire protection, plus the need for UDL to reduce expensive site visits for engineers.
KDS had visited Castleknock College to review what product would work best for this installation and selected DualCom G3 from the GradeShift Range. Having used this device on dozens of installations across the region KDS were confident in its reliability. The added option of UDL for Remote Servicing & Diagnostics (RSD) on the installed alarm control panel reduced the costs all round, a key factor in KDS winning the contract.
KDS installed a total of five DualCom G3s on sites across the campus at Castleknock College. The College itself is situated within 70 acres of parkland in West Dublin and has various separate buildings (school and onsite residences) that operated on different schedules and timings, resulting in the requirement of multiple independent systems. Two intruder alarm systems and three fire detection systems were installed – all of which are standalone and had their own dedicated DualCom G3 unit. Instead of depending on the internal school network for the systems, KDS decided to monitor each system independently. The flexibility of the product meant that the same hardware could be used for each of these systems, helping to reduce the overall installation time of the project. By choosing CSL, KDS have ensured the safety and security of Castleknock College is not compromised.
